چکیده
interventional MRI is warranted. Preoperatively, MRI allowed noninvasive assessment of cardiovascular anatomy and function. During and after implantation, the position of the prosthetic valve was easy to determine. Besides this morphologic information, MRI provided immediate postintervention physiologic parameters of cardiac function and perfusion of the proximal course of the coronary arteries. In addition, VEC MRI demonstrated optimal function of the implanted prosthetic valve in five cases and mild central valvular insufficiency in two cases. In conclusion, the results of this study imply that MRI is a promising tool for transcatheter placement of valved stents. However, further validation of safety aspects is needed in chronic studies with larger numbers of animals.

Three-dimensional electrophysiological imaging of the intact canine left ventricle using a noncontact multielectrode cavitary probe: study of sinus, paced, and spontaneous premature beats.
BACKGROUND The feasibility of measuring cavitary electrograms using a noncontact probe and reconstructing endocardial surface electrograms and activation sequences during paced beats was previously demonstrated in the isolated canine left ventricle (LV). The objective of the present study was to develop and test a high-resolution, three-dimensional, endocardial electrophysiological imaging tech...
متن کاملCoronary vasodilation after a single ventricular extra-activation in the conscious dog.
This study was undertaken to determine if coronary blood flow can be regulated in response to a transient increase in cardiac metabolic demand. Eight conscious dogs with experimentally produced complete heart block, a chronically implanted electromagnetic flow probe on the left circumflex coronary artery, and fluid-filled catheters for measurement of left ventricular and aortic pressures were s...

متن کاملRapid self-paced event-related functional MRI: feasibility and implications of stimulus- versus response-locked timing.
Many cognitive paradigms require self-paced responses or examine events that occur at unpredictable times. To explore whether functional MRI (fMRI) can accommodate such paradigms, a method allowing rapid, unpredictable trial pacing was developed and tested on 17 subjects using activation of the motor network as a model. Trial onset was determined solely by the subjects' self-paced responses and...
متن کاملThe effect of ventricular pacing on measurements of left ventricular function: a comparison between echocardiographic methods and with radionuclide ventriculography.
AIMS Different methods exist for measuring left ventricular function echocardiographically; each may be error prone due to the abnormal pattern of ventricular activation during pacing. METHODS AND RESULTS Echocardiography was undertaken on 307 patients with permanent pacemakers; a subset of 57 underwent radionuclide ventriculography. Intrinsic and paced beats were analysed for left ventricula...
